- Stringer and Stringer was founded in 1973 with father and son team, Lester Edwin Stringer and Patrick "Rick" Stringer. In 2002, the firm was reborn with father and daughter team, Rick Stringer and Elizabeth "Liz" Stringer. Upon her father's retirement, Stringer and Stringer became "Elizabeth J. Stringer, LLC" with a focus on Family Court and Probate matters.

- Having personally navigated the challenges of divorce, Liz brings a deep sense of compassion and empathy to guiding clients through their own difficult transitions.
- Family and children are very dear to Liz as she has a blended family of six children.
- Liz serves as a Guardian ad Litem in many custody cases and prioritizes children in her legal practice.
- To avoid the slash and burn effect of litigation, Liz regularly uses alternate dispute resolution through Mediation and Cooperative Law. She is a Certified Mediator and Arbitrator; member of the Charleston County Cooperative Family Law Association; and, a member of the Lowcountry Mediation Center (Formerly the Mediation and Meeting Center of Charleston where she served as President). Liz regularly serves as a volunteer mediator for the Lowcountry Mediation Center because of her dedication to providing mediation services to the public at a reduced cost.
